Comment of the Day: We can't ignore you anymore than we can not think about a monkey.
George Bush, via his proxy Attorney General Michael Mukasey, is threatening to veto unpassed terrorist surveillance legislation that does not include retroactive immunity for illegal activity by telecoms. Mukasey claims no one will help them in the future with their unlawful acts if they are going to be held liable for their actions. What's wrong with this picture? Of course the spineless Democrats will cave in to his demands. That's what they do best.
CIA Director Michael Hayden admitted that the CIA used waterboarding in the past, but claims it was performed on only three people and not for many years. Oh, but he doesn't have to worry because President Bush says the U.S. does not torture and Attorney General Michael Mukasey won't say if it's torture anyway. So what's all the fuss about?
Bobby Knight, colorful and controversial basketball coach, abruptly resigned as head of the Texas Tech team in mid-season. He claims he just got tired and it was time to go. Some fans have speculated that maybe there was another incident that was being covered up, but we'll take him at his word.
The guru to the Beatles, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi , has died at his home in the Netherlands. He was 91.
