Welcome to Ravel Babel.
Question of the Day: Why is it we feel so close to those who are so far away?
George McGovern, the ill-fated democratic presidential nominee in 1972, has added his voice to the call for impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney. However, he says "a lack of courage and statesmanship on the part of too many Democratic politicians" dooms any impeachment effort, something we have been saying for years. Still,
it show true patriotism on the part of McGovern to now only call for impeachment, but to lay out the facts for all to see.
The British government finally show a bit of common sense and drops the use of the phrase "war on terror". This action never was a "war." That label was used so the
chickenhawks in the administration could play "army" with real lives.
Sen. Joe Biden never stood a chance in the Democratic primary race mainly because the media never gave the one candidate with the most foreign policy experience a chance to tell his story. After pulling out of the race after the Iowa
caucus, Biden lashed out at the media, and with just cause.
The Onion has a spoof centering on Republicans wanting to rename Alzheimer's "Reagan's Disease." Of course their report of a Republican-led effort in Congress to make the change, but it does make a bit of perverted sense. Arguably, Reagan spent much of his
presidency in the grip of the disease and easily hid it from the American people. By renaming the disease it may give hope to thousands that they, too, may get an airport named after them.
