Welcome to Ravel Babel.
Question of the Day: If we sent you a chamois, would you wipe the fog from the mirror so we can get a better look?
Filmmaker Michael Moore has thrown his considerable weight behind John Edwards in the Democratic presidential primary race. Oh, he says he is not endorsing any one particular candidate, but he write the article. Like many of us, Moore would really like to see Dennis Kucinich as the candidate because of the Ohio congressman's stances on the issues, but we all know Kucinich only has two chances to gain the nomination - slim and none. What a pity that the one person who truly cares about the people in this country cannot get a fair shake.
George McGovern, who galloped to the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination on an antiwar horse only to lose in spectacular fashion, makes no apologies for his stance and is still beating the antiwar drum. One can only speculate where we would be today as a country had the voters had the sense to elect McGovern. But Americans have short memories and we find ourselves in another senseless conflict. Is there a viable candidate in the presidential race willing to face reality and end this illegal, immoral war? 'Fraid not.
Barak Obama has picked up a lot of support from other candidates prior to the Iowa caucus. First it was Dennis Kucinich who told his supports to back Barak if he doesn't garner the necessary votes in the first round. Now, Joe Biden and Bill Richardson have done the same. Do they know something we don't? Has Obama made promises to them if he is elected or are they hedging their bets? Time will tell.
Fred Thompson, once seen as the savior of the lackluster Republican presidential primary, is rumored to be considering dropping out of the race and endorsing John McCain. Ho hum. We think one worthless former actor serving as president is two too many. So long, Freddie.
