No big surprise here that Coleman is endorsing McCain in the Republican presidential primary, nor is there any surprise in Coleman's statement. After all, don't most Republicans live in an alternate reality? Coleman says McCain will "lower our taxes" - but he means only if you are in the top 1 percent - "stop wasteful government spending," he doesn't mean withdraw from Iraq - and "reduce the size of government" - he means the font size of the word government in all official document. No, really, look it up. OK, we're just kidding, but it fits, doesn't it?
Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., endorsed Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Sunday in the race for the Republican nomination.
Coleman had previously endorsed former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani who dropped out of the race last week.
"I have had the honor to work with John McCain since I first entered the senate in 2002. He is an effective leader who is the best person to lead the fight against radical Islamic extremism," said Senator Coleman in a press release Sunday. "John McCain is a committed conservative who will lower our taxes, stop wasteful government spending, and reduce the size of government. I am proud to support John McCain for president."
