Mike Huckabee is not fit to be president of the United States of America. Sure, the Baptist-preacher-turned-governor-turned-wannabe-president has a slick delivery with just enough mush in his mouth to lull you into believing he is sincere, but take a look at Huckabee's actions when faced with adversity. There is no doubt that as Arkansas governor he influenced the release of a serial rapist. Huckabee says it was the parole board who released the rapist. Members of the parole board have said they felt pressured by Huckabee to turn the prisoner loose. Huckabee continues to slip and dodge and cast blame elsewhere. After all, he has a lot to lose now that he is surging in the polls. Huckabee is not fit to be president because he once made what we will call an honest mistake. He is not fit to be president because of the way he is handling the situation today. When this issue first arose he should have told the truth. He should have said he believed the man had become a born-again Christian and deserved a second chance, that he was influenced by a long-time friend who had become close to the felon. He should have explained why he ignored the pleas of the rapist's victims not to release him. Surely, he has a good reason for that, doesn't he? But, no, Huckabee decided to try and worm his way out of the mess with half truths and misdirections. It is for this that he is not fit to be president of the United States of America.
